As a residential project manager I have successfully bid, budgeted and constructed residences in excess of $4,000,000.00 in value. One high profile client in the industry has referred to me as "The best construction manager I have ever met or worked with." My experience includes the waterfront development, permitting and construction of slope stability projects and recreational use facilities on the Upper Potomac.
I am computer literate and have experience with all Microsoft products including MS Project, Word and Excel as well as Buildtopia ,Marks Systems and Quickbooks.
I am skilled and experienced with architectural design, plan reading and review, material take - offs, site management and development, construction administration, budget based planning, and all phases of residential construction.
EMPLOYMENT
2006-2008 Project Manager, Great Falls Construction
Salary -$96,500.00 plus gas, vehicle expenses and annual bonus
Successfully estimated, bid and constructed large scale custom homes for high profile clients in the Northern Va. area. As a Project Manager I was required to evaluate projects for compatibility with company goals, meet with potential clients, estimate, bid and present projects as well as being responsible for all aspects of construction. Worked as an integral team member on all aspects of residential construction with a heavy emphasis on unique, difficult and technical projects. All projects were delivered on time or ahead of schedule. Profit margins on all projects were met or exceeded with a less than 1% variance in the original projected budget. As a Project Manager I handled multiple jobs in different stages from initial proposal through completion and was able to maintain a high standard of quality. I received recommendations from clients regarding my high level of service, attention to detail and knowledge of the project and their requirements.
2005-2006 Director of Residential Construction, Ridgewood Homes
Salary - $100,000.00 plus bonus, vehicle and expenses
As an Executive Board member I was responsible for all aspects of residential construction and site development. As a Director I reorganized the construction staff to increase efficiency and was able to reduce the standard construction time of new homes by 30%. I successfully instituted new policies for estimating, bidding, sub contract management and job safety resulting in job cost savings. By changing the scheduling procedures we were able to increase production and reduce labor costs. I was also instrumental in the creation of the Customer Service Division to manage consumer affairs and assisted in the production of the New Homeowner’s Guide that outlined warranty requirements and procedures. Under my leadership the Construction Department became more efficient and professional resulting in a higher standard of quality while reducing construction time and job costs.
2004-2005 Senior Project Manager, Marquis Custom Homes
Salary - $85,000.00 plus production bonus
I managed all of the Project Managers, vendors and sub-contractors for Marquis Custom Homes at Raspberry Falls. I supervised the site management and development and was responsible for building 30-35 homes a year in the 1.5-2.5 million dollar range. I organized and staffed the Customer Service Department for 3 subdivisions and all custom homes, established the policies and procedures for walk throughs and warranty operations, contributed to and edited the Customer Care Manual, and satisfactorily closed out many of the outstanding Customer Service issues. At Raspberry Falls I instituted a morning line up, formal training and education of Project Managers and Sales personnel, created quality assurance procedures and check lists for each house, reviewed and redlined plans for accuracy and quality as part of the Architectural Review Team, instituted a rotating Safety Officer Program, reviewed vendors for proper licensing and managed the subcontractor base.
2003-2004 Project Manager, Basheer and Edgemoore
$69,500.00 plus production bonus
I worked as a Field Manager at River Falls on the Occoquan, managed the construction and delivery of 35 homes a year in the 1-3 million dollar price range, managed Customer Service lists, site work and safety programs. I was responsible for meeting with all homeowners, sales personnel, inspectors and subcontractors and handling all aspects of home construction from foundation to settlement. I was able to deliver 5 homes more than were scheduled and contributed to the company’s first $100,000,000.00 year.
1999-2003 Monumental Trim Design
I started in 1999 as a working lead carpenter and progressed to the position of General Manager. I managed all aspects of growth and business until 2004. I was involved at all levels of contracting, business management, design, problem resolution and development.
1996-1999 Foreman, LMO Custom Interior Trim
I worked as a lead carpenter on high end residential interior trim and was responsible for the daily management and supervision of carpenters and multiple jobsites. I interacted with all Construction Managers to resolve Quality Assurance lists as well as resolving material take issues.
I believe that I am a valuable asset as a leader with proven supervisory and field experience, technical knowledge and management skills that takes pride in the accomplishments of the team. In various capacities I have contributed to innovation and creation of guide lines and policies which have been beneficial to the company.
